Below is a chart whose origins I am uncertain of. I first saw it and the conception of the Vrilstein in the early 1980s and wrote it down then. I have had moderate success with it since. If anyone has information on the original source please email me.

The concept is that certain substances are potential storehouses for energy if used properly. It's groupings I have found are generally planetary, although I am not convinced that the concept is strictly so.

When using a substance as a Vrilstein be sure to cleanse it and purify it first to clear it of any negative energy. When not using it put it away in a lined box or wrap it in a white cloth and keep it away from any other Vrilsteins lest the energies corrupt each other. Supposedly the way to charge them was when you come home from work or wake up with an excess of a certain emotion (see column 3) embrace that emotion and when it rises within you unwrap the Vrilstein appropriate for that emotion. You then 'pour' the energy into the Vrilstein.

Following across the chart from left to right and reinforce the particular emotion with the appropriate 5 sensory stimuli. When you have all (or as many as possible) reinforcing stimuli present 'POUR' that emotion into the Vrilstein until you are at a comfortable, functional level or until the feeling is all placed into the Vrilstein. Once you have placed as much of the energy as you feel  you need or want to into the Vrilstein rewrap it and put it back away either until you decide to pour more energy into it or until you want to draw upon the stored energy for one of the purposes outlined for that specific Vrilstein.

Within your rituals when you need to draw upon the stored energy you can draw out the energy in small doses or physically break, burn, boil, or melt the Vrilstein during the casting. This releases all that pent up energy that you have been storing in that Vrilstein. There is no limit to how long, or how much energy you can or should place within the Vrilstein. The only cautions that I was given was that the more energy you place in it the more likely that it will spontaneously break releasing that energy. i.e. The wood cracks or the stone breaks. At the very least the energy that you invested is gone or worse when this happens you can get a sudden, unchanneled release of energy. On the other end of the scale, if you leave a Vrilstein too long without investing energy into it the energy may diffuse itself and leave you with an empty shell. Some Vrilsteins like gold are less likely to suffer this kind of effect than say one of the woods.

The suggested size of a Vrilstein (as it was put to me) is about 1 pound of wood or metal (easy for copper or lead, much more of a problem for gold.) Stones should be as large and pure as possible and ideally without fractures or flaws. (Unrealistic is some cases I would think.) They can be rough lumps of material to statues of a god. The important thing is that it is a pleasing item to you. This table was passed on to me at the same time as the Godforms and their Resonant Materials chart.

I would love to hear about your success or failures with this technique.
